About Mohave Cabin with Treehouse
Mohave Cabin with Treehouse is our largest and most distinctive property — a 7-bedroom cabin with a genuine treehouse that pushes total capacity to 33 guests. This is the property for the reunion that finally gets the whole family together, the milestone birthday that needs real space, or the group that has always wanted something a little more special than a standard vacation rental.
The treehouse isn't a gimmick — it's actual sleeping space set among the pines, giving kids and teens their own adventure while the adults settle into the main lodge. Both structures sit just west of Rainbow Lake in Lakeside, Arizona, surrounded by the ponderosa pines and cool mountain air of the White Mountains.
At 7,000 feet, Lakeside summers are genuinely refreshing — highs in the low-to-mid 80s, crisp evenings, and zero humidity. While the Phoenix valley swelters, your group of 33 will be sleeping with the windows open and waking up to birdsong in the forest.
Amenities
The Treehouse Experience
Treehouses are rare in vacation rentals — and rarer still in a White Mountains cabin that already sleeps 28+ in the main structure. Mohave's treehouse is set in the pines, adding extra sleeping capacity while giving your group something genuinely memorable. Kids claim it immediately. Teens disappear into it happily. And adults appreciate that everyone still wakes up in the same property.
Location: West of Rainbow Lake, Lakeside, AZ
Lakeside is one half of the Pinetop-Lakeside community, sitting on the Mogollon Rim at the edge of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Rainbow Lake — 60 acres of stocked trout water — is literally steps from the cabin. The lake is perfect for fishing, casual paddling, or just sitting on the bank while the group cooks dinner.
Show Low is about 10 minutes away for groceries and restaurants. The White Mountains Scenic Railroad in Pinetop, Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area, and Hawley Lake are all within a short drive. For the adventurous, the Rim Lakes Recreation Area offers trails above 8,000 feet with sweeping views of the Mogollon Rim.
